Having gained four years’ experience in Private Client work, Emily joined Burgess Mee to grow the firm's Private Client practice.

As part of her role, Emily advises on Wills and Lifetime Tax Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship Orders, Trust matters and Estate administration.

Emily has experience in dealing with high-net-worth clients including clients with commercial and agricultural assets.

After achieving a 2:1 in her undergraduate degree in Law at Newcastle University she completed her postgraduate qualification at the University of Law receiving a Commendation. She is working towards her STEP qualification having completed the Administration of Estates, Administration of Trusts and Estates and Trust Taxation modules. Emily is in the process of completing her final STEP Exam in Advanced Will Drafting. She hopes to become STEP qualified by the end of the year.

Emily has provided comments to the media, including the Financial Times, on tax planning.

Emily prides herself on providing empathetic and practical advice to clients. Wills, Trusts and Probate can be very complex and technical and it is important for clients to have simplified and transparent advice

Outside of work, Emily is an avid reader, citing her greatest achievement as reading 100 books in 2021. She is also a regular theatre goer and enjoys going to new restaurants.
