Marked as a Legal 500 "rising star" in her native North East circuit, Jo relocated to London to join a high end Mayfair litigation team as a Chambers 2016 "Associate to watch". Jo then progressed to Director level at a leading City family firm before joining Burgess Mee.
She is committed to resolving her cases in an amicable and cost effective way for her clients and "goes the extra mile" (Chambers 2016). She has successfully represented a wide range of high net worth clients including online fashion entrepreneurs and publishers, high profile sports people and their partners, and domestic and international bankers, professionals and entrepreneurs.
Jo has broad experience of litigation work including High Court worldwide freezing orders and complex variation of maintenance applications. She is also a trained Collaborative lawyer and offers this service as an alternative form of dispute resolution.
Jo helps parents to resolve arrangements for their children and with other child related issues including applications for permission to move out of the country with their children, schooling and abduction. She has a keen interest in cross-border adoption and surrogacy work.
As an active member of Resolution, Jo was a founding member of Young Resolution North East before her appointment to the National Resolution Publications Committee. Jo is committed to innovative practice and regularly contributes to the legal press and blogs and to the legal Twittersphere @1johall.
