Katie joined Burgess Mee in July 2019. Prior to this, she trained at Stone King LLP where she gained experience advising on a range of family law matters including private children, divorce and finances, TOLATA applications, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and cases involving domestic violence. She has a particular interest in private children cases, having worked on complex matters, often involving domestic and sexual abuse.
Katie previously worked as a paralegal at Goodman Ray, a niche family law firm in London, primarily assisting on private and public law children matters and international child abduction cases.
Katie studied History at the University of Leeds before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law. During this time she was involved in the Innocence Project, an initiative dedicated to preventing and overturning miscarriages of justice. She went on to complete the LPC with the LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in Bloomsbury.
Katie is a member of Resolution, promoting a non-confrontational approach to family issues.
Outside of work Katie is a keen horse rider and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
