Solicitor (New Zealand qualified)

Lucy is a family law solicitor (New Zealand qualified). She recently moved to London bringing four years of experience, having practiced exclusively in family law.

Lucy advises on a range of family law matters including divorce, financial disputes, pre and post nuptial arrangements, arrangements for children, domestic abuse and surrogacy matters. Lucy is a member of Resolution, an organisation for family lawyers which promotes a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family law cases.

Previously, Lucy worked as a Senior Solicitor in the family team at one of New Zealand’s leading commercial law firms, ranked as a Legal 500 firm and Leading (First Tier) Family and Relationship firm by the Doyles Guide. During this time Lucy developed expertise in all areas of family law including financial disputes, pre and post nuptial agreements, arrangements for children, domestic abuse and surrogacy matters. Lucy has particular experience in complex children matters, including where a child is refusing to see a parent, international relocation matters and urgent applications involving allegations of domestic abuse. Her finance experience includes high net worth cases involving issues of non-disclosure, expert valuations of company and partnership interests, economic disparity claims and trusts. Lucy is particularly interested in the the domestic abuse interplay with financial remedy proceedings and is keen to see developments in this area of the law in future. She also has experience in adoption and surrogacy applications. In New Zealand, she appeared regularly in the Family Court for her clients as sole counsel and as junior counsel to senior barristers and King’s Counsel. Lucy has also published articles in the New Zealand Law Society Family Advocate magazine.

Lucy completed her Bachelor of Law & Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Communications and Criminology) conjoint degree at the University of Auckland in 2021. She was then admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor at the Auckland High Court in March 2022. In 2023 Lucy worked as a legal intern at the European Parliament in Brussels. Lucy always knew that she wanted to be a family lawyer. She is dedicated to helping her clients by providing practical advice during what can be the most challenging time in their lives whilst always offering a professional level of empathy. She is particularly passionate about promoting a constructive and conciliatory approach to family law cases.

Outside of work, Lucy is enjoying London life and living abroad. She loves to travel and experience new places, going for walks with a good coffee, cooking, and listening to music (mainly The Beatles).
