About Penny

Penny was called to the Bar in 1996 and completed her pupillage at 29 Bedford Row. She then gained experience from a different perspective, working in the family team at Charles Russell solicitors (as it was). Following a career break, Penny joined Camilla Baldwin solicitors in Mayfair as a consultant. Penny also has experience working as a support lawyer for a family law QC and has qualified as a direct access barrister.

Penny has a wide range of experience including public law and private law children proceedings and all types of financial matters following the breakdown of relationships. Penny brings a dual capacity approach to cases having gained experience as both a barrister and from a solicitor’s perspective. In recent years, high and ultra-high net worth families, including those with complex off-shore company/trust structures, and international clients have been prominent in Penny’s practice however she recognises that the same core issues are usually at the heart of all cases and her focus is on providing a well-rounded, practical and emotionally intelligent approach.

Penny has a particular interest in financial claims under Part III Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1984, following a divorce outside of this jurisdiction. These cases often involve complex financial structures, asset tracing and enforcement issues.

Penny is a member of Resolution, the Family Law Bar Association and trained as a collaborative lawyer. She is committed to resolving issues with a constructive and non-confrontational approach, where possible but has the skills and expertise to support and guide clients where litigated proceedings are necessary.
